When is gold going to be fashionable?

I was writing about gold coin and how it is good to invest in gold.

But I just recall the times when gold was in fashion. Like gold shoes, gold handbags, those chunky gold earrings and even gold material for dresses.

I think I would love to own a few pairs of gold shoes and a couple of gold handbags. It is nice to have them sparkling and shiny. Even if I can't afford gold coins, at least I get to stare at the fake ones and be happy about it.

So, when is gold going to come back in fashion? Can we have them in the next season? Plese? The world needs brighter stuffs because it is dreary as it is.

Women magazines are wasting my time

I bought a few women magazines but they are still in their plastics. I do not know why I bought them in the first place. I was on holiday and thought I will have time to flip through the pages.

However, I wasn't in the mood to let them mess up my holidays. You know how women magazines are. They give you the message that you are not pretty enough, you need the latest make-up, the latest fashion and more money to spend.

Love is a battlefield

Wow, this is such a flasback. I am watching the movie and it has this song. I remember the good old times. When disco was the rage and Saturday nights are spent dancing in disco.

Now? Saturday nights mean catching up on housework, spending time with the kids and just flat out at home.

I suppose it is not such a bad thing after all. It is quite good to stay home and do nothing.

My friends are asking me why I have so much to gush about gold coins and all things gold.

Well, it pays to talk about gold because gold is good. It is like the most sought after metal in the world and people want and love gold. They fought over it, they tried to impose their power on others to get more gold.

So, gold has a kind of attraction that everybody wants. Women love them. Men love them. Countries love them.

That's why you will be reading and hearing a lot about gold and more gold because that's what I do. Promote gold and get paid to do it. So that I have lots of money to buy gold for myself instead of dreaming of it.

A lot of Hindu friends are celebrating Deepavali but I chose to stay home today because I really need a break. Having nothing to do is so relaxing and I enjoy my day today.

I am typing this from my living room sofa. It has been a while since lounge around doing nothing.

Well, not exactly doing nothing because I am working on my online stuffs and reading up things. However, I can catch a movie on TV while doing them so it makes things much more interesting.

I am watching 13 going 30 and actually like the movie very much. Kind of a fantasy to skip all the bad parts and go to only the good part.

My friend told me she bought gold bullion. I asked her if she uses it as her pillow because I thought bullion is very, very huge like a pillow.

She laughed and told me gold bullion comes in small sizes and are meant for investment. The large ones I was thinking of are the ingots.

Talking about investment, the gold prices are skyrocketing these days and it is like a good time to start looking into this form of investment. With inflation and money getting less value, it is good to keep something stable like gold because the prices are always good.

Don't you think these trays of red eggs are so adorable? It is a little bit like Easter eggs. However, these are offered to the Chinese gods to appease them.

These are hard boiled eggs which have been dyed with red food colouring. These red eggs are usually use on birthdays and they are distributed to everyone for good luck. Of course, they are edible.

I saw these lovely drawings at a school. Just love how children express themselves through their drawings. I cannot read what are written but I do get a message that they try to convey.

Sometimes, the most beautiful pieces are these paintings and they ought to be hung on walls of restaurants for their simplicity. Why waste money on prints when you can get beautiful kid's paintings, huh?

I just looked up Billy Ocean old songs to listen to my favourite 'Suddenly' and suddenly, I am reminded how old I am too. He is now all white hair and wrinkled. That made me the same too because when I was younger, I love listening to this song.

This is why I have to remind myself to save for the rainy days and olden years. It is never too early to start to buy gold coin and store them.

In a blink of an eye, we will be too old, too weak and too frail to earn money anymore. Then, we have to depend on our savings. Unless we have a discipline to invest in properties or invest in gold, we may ended up too old to do anything and being peniless.

I was sick when I was in Thailand and had a queasy stomach. So, the sights of eggs, ham, bacon and other foods stuffs under the American Breakfast set made me want to puke.

The waitress suggested to me boiled rice. Initially, I thought she is talking about the normal rice we eat because we need to boil the rice to make it cooked.

It turned out to be porridge and I must say the Thais have very nice porridge or broth as Americans call it.

I had mine with shrimps, pork and even chicken. That was my staple breakfast every morning.

Flower fritters

The other day when I was in Thailand, I saw them frying the blue pea flowers as fritters. I couldn't resist getting some of these hot, crispy and tasty flower fritters.

Although it looks rather funny after being fried as the colour blue has turned dark, it is kind of nice to munch on flowers. I think we should explore more flowers to be turned into foods because it is something different from eating green vegetables, isn't it?

I just got a call from a friend that the husband of another friend has just passed away. He just collapsed and passed on after losing consciousness.

My widow friend is only in her late fourties while the husband has just touched fifty not too long ago. The news of the death do rattle us all because it is not something we think of ever happening. Well, at least not so soon.

However, life is such. That's why it is good to plan for tomorrow and be wise in our investment because we do not want to be left without a penny. Anyone keen to buy gold and be comforted of something to fall back on in case the main breadwinner is not around?

These beautiful coral salad leaves are planted in tiny bags, hanging in the air and having some water sprayed on them each day. They are really lovely and beautiful.

However, I do wonder how nutritious these vegetables are because they do not really have real, earth but just hydroponic stuffs to sustain them. Do you think there are minerals, vitamins and healthy stuffs in there?

The other thing is there is no infestation of bugs and I do wonder why the bugs don't even like them.

Long, busy weekend

It is a long weekend over here due to several holidays. My dear hubby has taken leave on Monday so he has a total of five days.

However, I do not have the luxury of having a five-days break because I have to work, work, work due to the special festive occasion. So many events to cover and so many things to do.

So, all I have is a few hours there and a few hours here to do some shopping therapy and self-gratification of buying stuffs I don't really need.

I was at the mall today and people still shove credit card applications to shoppers without a care if they can afford to pay or not. Gullible ones still sign up with the hope of getting free gifts and free spending.

Many young people are into this trend of living on credit. They don't think much of the future. They do not care about investment. Telling them to buy gold coins is futile because they just don't see how important and useful it is to do so.

I am glad that I have been prudent in spending during my younger days, never buying on credit and never spend more than I can earn.

We went to this strawberry farm where we can pick our own strawberries. However, the price they put is so silly. We have to pay $20 for 500 grams of hand-picked strawberry while we need to pay only $12 for those they have plucked for us.

So, we decided not to do it because what's the point of paying $8 extra when we can just sit back and eat cheaper ones.

National Day, national flower

August 31st is our National Day. And then, what? It seems that people no longer treasure this thing call independent day. We have lost our sight. We take for granted that independent day comes because we deserve it.

I guess somewhere along, education failed. We were not reminded of why we have this day call independent day. That's why the people are not excited about it.

As we are nearing our 50s, friends told us to start taking stock of our investments. A friend suggested to us to take as much loans as possible because in another few years, it will be hard for us to do so.

Another told us to buy gold coins and keep them for investment as it is the best choice.

Yet another old told us to keep some money in fixed deposit because it is much needed as we have children who are college going and we never know when a big bill may come along.

Yesterday we had lunch at my son's college and they serve this lovely creme brulee with icecream. I love the sugar art they place on the icecream. It is soooo pretty. And it tastes good too. What they did was to melt the sugar and then, quickly form it before it dries and harden.

The sugar thingie tastes like caramel because that's what it is.

I have the bad habit of not using a sun protection whenever I go out in the hot midday sun. Usually, I just jumped into the car, drive and though I can feel the heat on my face, I am just too lazy to apply a sun protection cream. The reason is because I hate the icky, sticky feelings on my face.

The other day, I bought a pair of khaki pants. Normally, I hate khaki because I find it too dull. However, I was asked to get a pair for my photoshoot because the stylist says I look better in khaki than black pants.

Yesterday, I wore the pants and it has become so loose. I recently lost some weight because I reduced my intake and move more. It is also a stressful month, with so many things to complete.

I hate caves

If I am a bat, I think I will die of claustrophobia. But then, if I am a bat, i wouldn't be afraid of dark, tiny, enclosed places, huh?

The above photo was taken when we drove to a cave in the southern part of Thailand. It is a huge cave with many sections. I hate being inside but since we have spent so many hours driving, I have no choice but to enter the slippery cave. We need to crawl inside as they had made the entrance really small.

There is a lawsuit today where the girl won the case. When she was 12 years old, she went on those go-kart ride with her parents. Her hair was long. They didn't have shower cap. She wore the helmet with the long hair hanging out.

Somehow, her hair was caught in the go-kart wheels and she was paralyed from chest down. Now, the company has to pay for her lifetime maintenance. She won a $800,000 lawsuit.

It is very distressing to read that the Red Shirts in Thailand are fighting head on with the government. Things are getting messy over there.

It is sad that wars are not fought over land or gold but governing body. With that kind of chaotic situation, I wonder what the people are doing? Prices will fall, tourism dollars will fall, people will suffer.

In three more days, I have to go for a TV filming. Scary thing about TV cameras is how we can end up looking at least 10 pounds heavier.

Do you hate the storm brewing? I do. It is freaking spooky when the wind blows hard and the lighting and thunder rolling in the sky.

Yet, the rain won't fall and blanket me with this sickening humidity. It makes my face so oily, body sweaty and I need to bath over and over again.

Women and shoe shops are match made in heaven. There is nothing like running wild in a shoe shop, trying on every pair of shoes just to get that magical Cinderella feeling. Women can connect with what I just said.

However, men have their own heaven. A hardware shop where all the nuts and bolts, screws and tools and all those DIY stuffs. They may not like to DIY much but there is nothing like fantasizing about the tools that can do wonders.

I always have tiny sachets of these spices at home because they are flexible. You can use it for cooking, baking and even making drinks with them.

I didn't know tea tree oil for acne can be used for acne until now. All the while, I use tea tree oil for washing my face, moisturing and even in my bath.

I think age is catching up with me. I somehow love natural products and do not mind the smell of certain ingredients. I have been buying a lot of organic soaps and oils and though they don't smell as sweet, I find them so much more comforting than fake fragrances.

So, if you are looking for something natural and do not want fake chemicals, try tea tree oil.

Are you the type who needs to rely on multivitamin to make you feel healthy?

I am one of those who must pop some pills because I don't always eat a balanced and nutritious meals. I tend to skip fruits and vegetables because I just simply forget to eat them!

I do not take multivitamin but instead, prefer vitamin A, C and E as they are said to be good for my skin. And you know what? I really do have better skin than most. So, in a way, I am thankful that I have consumed my multivitamins and all those magic pills since I was in my 20s.

I had a very hectic week and it spells trouble. I suddenly sprout so many zits on my face because I wasn't free to even properly pamper my face. Now I am regretting it because I am due to attend a conference and meeting people I haven't met before.

Cute little grand nieces and nephews

I am the luckiest aunt ever. I have so many grown up nephews and nieces and many of them have gotten married. They in turn have many kids whom are my grandnephews and grandnieces.

It is so heartwarming to see one baby after another being born. As an aunt, I can see the similarities of these babies compared to their parents. When I was young, as young as 10 years old, I had helped my mother to take care of a few of the nieces and nephews.

So, it is very appropriate for me to have good links to baby shower invitations because they need it all the time.

Does your kid needs to be reminded to go to the toilet?

My boy was pretty much a routine person when it comes to the toilet business when he was younger. During kindie, he would do it daily without being asked.

However, now that he is in primary school, he seems too busy to remember at all. He would come home from school, got busy with his computer games, homework, tv and etc and before I realise it, it is already at night.

So, I have to remind him he has pass his motion. Sometimes, he may do it, sometimes not if he is already tired and sleepy. I warned him that if he makes that a habit, one day, he will get hemorrhoid.

He doesn't know what it is, of course. Just something to compel him so that he keeps better habit. I don't want to be hunting for best hemorrhoid treatment next time.

Trimming my women blog

I had spent the last few days trimming my women blog. That used to be a very popular blog with the search engines. It is several years old and I think some of the older posts are not relevant anymore. It is taking up spaces and whatever bandwidth.

So, I decided to trim the women blog, post by post. There are so many posts, close to a thousand so it is so tedious. I leave on popular posts like those selling top fat burner and such because it is getting me decent traffic.

As for those personal rantings, I just delete them off. I am going to take many more days before I can actually cut down the size.

Rubber duckie

I love this photo of the bright yellow rubber duckie in the ocean of azure blue.

In fact, I love it so much, this is now my desktop photo. My little boy looks so adorable in his long sleeve swimsuit, hanging on the rubber duckie. However, note that the rubber duckie is not meant for a boy his age.

He was wearing a life vest and merely use the rubber duckie as a prop. He can swim and the sea is shallow.

It is nice taking him to the beach to get some exercise and build muscle. He loves the fresh air, sandy beach and of course, the crystal clear water.

Vegetarian fasting is killing me

The other day, I ordered this croissant with eggs and veggies. These are the things I have to eat lately and I am beginning to feel depressed looking at those veggies.

Sigh, I hate tomatoes, cucubers and salads. So you tell me how to survive 40 days of eating foods that I detest?

Therefore, I cheated a bit by taking 'off days' when I can eat a variety of other things.

That's why I never grow thinner eventhough I reduced my foods. I guess I need thermogenic fat burners to do that.

Getting lost and found again

Everytime we go for long car trips, I always felt such relieved when we finally reach home.

Sunset and everything nice

I saw the most breath-taking sunset the other day. I was on the boat with my family and we were on our way back to our hotel.

We had to ride a water taxi to get back so we were in the middle of the sea. The sun was slowly setting while a rainbow formed in the sky.

My little boy was so excited to see the rainbow. I think that's the best boat ride I had for a long time.

Define toys

Toys means different things at different age. When my boy was a baby, toys to him was just rattlers and soft toys. Now that he is seven, toys to him are those scientific experiments and puzzles.

Meanwhile, toys are always an attraction to boys. My older sons still like to visit those shops selling action figurines and collect those rare and very expensive limited versions of their favourite action figurines.

They insisted that these will become very good investment in future and they can sell those action figures off for very high price. I doubt so but if they use their own money to buy, why not?

Modern homes

Between the traditional home and the modern home, I would opt for the traditional. By traditional, I mean homes made of more natural woods and such. However, we hardly can get natural teak wood furniture because they are so expensive as the woods are getting rare.

So, most modern homes are furnished with modern furniture which is pleasant to the eye and comfy. Yet, it doesn't exude the calming effects of natural woods which I love so much.

Taking a short break for the casino

I am writing from my brother's place. We are waiting for hubby to finish his work and then, we hope to head up to the hills for some casino and theme park.

My little boy has forgotten his last visit to the theme park and he is so excited to visit the park and go for the rides. Meanwhile, another older son is so looking forward to the roller coaster ride.

As for me, I think I will stick to something tamer, i.e. the casino. I think I haven't been to the casino for many years already. Feeling like lady luck is with me. So, I won't be going for any heart stopping roller coaster rides. Otherwise, I need to increase my insurance for fear of a heart attack. Need to get a term life insurance quote so that at least I know I would die rich.

A friend is suggesting that I invest in gold because I was grumbling about the high property prices and the low interest rates. The price of condominiums are getting ridiculous because a decent one costs a million. Meanwhile, it is lousy to save money because the interest rate is so low.

So, she said it is a very good time to time to buy gold bullion as the price of gold has been stable and very secure through decades.

You see, thieves went into the school during the school holidays and they stole all the faucets, metal grills and even the fans. Come on, those are just regular faucets and not those expensive looking, classy Kohler faucets.

Yet, people are so desperate nowadays. Luckily, the school now has grills and during off school hours, they will locked up the canteen and toilets too.

My niece is looking for pretty and impressive baby girl announcements for a friend. I am quite puzzled initially because back in my time, there wasn't such thing around.

But now, people are into internet announcements and beautiful printed cards as well. So, these businesses are making big bucks because we have cameras to take beautiful pictures and turn them into breath taking beauties.

Which heart won't melt with those pinkish lace and candy floss designs, huh? If I can have a baby girl, I too would splurge on such stuffs because they are so adorable.

It is a beautiful temple. My only regret is I didn't bring a long my DSLR camera. I am left with this cheap camera so it didn't really capture the nice green colour of the bamboo railing.

I know I do. I am so sick of this heat I wish I live in some snow alps. Of course, I can't ski as I have very bad balance. So, a ski vacation may not be very ideal for me.

But give me the white, fluffy snow, the hot fondue and lots of alcohol to keep warm. It will be a perfect holiday then.

I wonder if I will ever see snow in this lifetime because I don't see any plans to travel far enough where it is snowing. Still it is good to dream, isn't it?

A new month, a new promise

Every month, when it is a new month, I will gladly tear away the calendar for the previous month. There is something nice about doing it because it is like throwing away all the bad things of the past month.

Now, it is March. A new month. A new promise. I hope I will have more time in March than February which was filled with so many things including the lunar new year preparation, getting my kids accustomed to school, feeling sick and such.

So, march on. I am going to concentrate on spa filter and all the technical stuffs.

It is like living in an oven everyday. It is hot, hot, hot. To make it worse, it is also very humid.

So, each day, I cannot live without the aircond. Whenever I prepare dinner, I will end up sweating so much my t-shirt is wet. I am such an ugly mess in this hot weather and I absolutely hate it.

How nice if I can afford one of those Outer Banks vacation homes and enjoy spring right now. But no luck, I am too poor so I can only hide in my aircond room all day and go out when I am forced to.

One more week and the lunar new year festival will be over. After all the feasting and pigging out on such fattening foods, it is to for a quick trim fast cleanse.

Everyone will be regretting that they had eaten too much and now suffer for the overeating.

My skin feels like a parched land

The weather has been so dry, so hot and my face skin is feeling so rough just like sandpaper.

When I apply face moisturizer, I could almost feel the moisturizer was being quickly absorb. It is almost like a parch land with rain water falling on it. The water disappear immediately.

So, I have to make it a habit to put a large jug of water at the bedside to drink often. Despite that, I still fell sick.

Well, folks, it is almost Christmas eve and if you haven't done your shopping, then you are in deep trouble. But then, fear not. There is still the New Year to make up for it.

Frankly, I never like Christmas shopping because of the crowd. So, I would prefer getting everyhing done online so that I do not need to fight with the crowd and traffic. Usually, people will save the stress and get all they need from ShopWiki.com.

I saw some fabulous Coach bags on the site and really wish to own one of that. But sigh....I don't have a rich Santa to get it for me and I am too poor to pay for it. So, I guess I will settle for a tote bag because carrying shopping bag is really a great idea as I can stuff all the shopping stuffs inside along with my personal belongings. Go on, take a look and find something suitable for the new year.

Awake from my slumber

In the last month, I have taken off from active blogging because I feel so tired dealing with all the online works. So, I slacked off and went into a state of slumber.

But when this happens, it also means money are slow to trickle in. So, I have woken up from my slumber and ready to roll again. No more lying down, taking things easy and not working at all.

So, I have to keep all the mattresses and get back on my feet to work, work, work.

Next year, I hope I have better routine because that's when my son goes to school and I have half a day to myself.

I have made it a point to spend at least a portion of my income on my own indulgences. There was this period of my life where I either kept the money or used them for my family. So, I have this sense of wonderment why I bother to work online to make money. The income becomes meaningless as the months roll by and finally, I see no purpose in doing them.

So, now, I decided that if I am going to work so hard on them, I may as well measure them in terms of cosmetics, shoes, bags, clothes and other stuffs so that I have a purpose to work. Now, thanks to Black Friday I can splurge and enjoy my income.

I have the bad habit of sleeping on my face towards the morning. Usually, before it is time to wake up, I would stir a bit and then, sleep face down. It is a habit of not oversleeping because the face down posture is meant to be a few minutes of shut eye before I actually get out of bed.

However, age has caught up and now, I notice that if I sleep on my face for too long, I will end up with vertical wrinkles. Read that - vertical wrinkles. That means the lines go the same way as my nose.

No amount of anti-wrinkle cream can help such lines because they are caused by pressure applied to the face.

Overweight hard drives

I have to spend the whole Saturday night just to clear up my two external drives and my two hard drives in my computer. It is a chore doing them because the transfer of the files from drives to drives take a long time.

That's why I like to store most of my photos online because I can safely delete some files when they are taking up too much space. My bad habit is to store my files into several hard drives in my computer. Then, when I am in the mood, I will delete and trim. However, at times, I accidentally deleted all the back-ups. So, always keep online storage for your important files if you cannot afford to lose them.

Rubber Duckies

Everyone loves those yellow rubber duckies. It is like a connection to our childhood when bath time was such happy times.

I always get a few rubber duckies for my kids' bath time and these cheerful duckies never fail to cheer them up.

However, remember that those water that lie stagnant in the duckies are rather bad for kids so never let them put these duckies in their mouths.

Quaint little cottage

Over the weekend, we went for a holiday at this tiny, little quanint cottage. It was the most beautiful place with creeping flowers on rooftop, moss on the grounds and pebbles walkway.

Meanwhile, in the bedroom we have four-poster beds. But the thing with pretty cottages are the floor. The floor is made of creaky wooden planks and at night, the floor was really noisy when we walk. The other thing is the window. The windows are made from wooden panels and insects flew in at nights searching for lights.

That's when I wish they have more modern things like glass tileinstead of wooden ones.

Shopping in a foreign country is no fun

I find it so inconvenient to buy things from the vendors and small shops in other countries because most of them do not speak English. It is so hard to make them understand what I want and usually using sign language gets me nowhere.

The other day, I wanted to buy a pair of earrings. The earring is very cute with white cake and a tiny strawberry on top. I wanted a brown one because the white cake looks too tacky. I have a pair with chocolate donuts so I thought it will be fun to have chocolate cream cake as well.

I asked the lady who handmade the earrings but she just doesn't understand. Finally, I gave up and buy the white pair. How nice if we have some system to translate languages like barcode scanner. Just say something into the machine and it translates automatically to the language it was intended. Of course, we can do so with online translation but not with verbal languages.

Dates

It is dates season here again. I am not talking about the boy girl dates but rather the fruits from the dessert.

I love dates a lot. My favourite is the fresh ones which is not too ripe and yet, not too tart. A few of these gives me a sugar high all the time. But the bad thing about dates is how high in sugar and calories they are. That's why the Arabs could survive on dates in the desert.

The other day, I went to this shop specialising in dates and they have the most expensive ones which is call the prophet date. I asked the shopkeeper why it is expensive and he told me the nutrients in that date is much higher than others.

I think if I keep eating so much dates, I will need weight loss supplements because I am not fasting and yet, eating. My Muslims friends are fasting and hence, taking dates are good for their digestion.

I have left a few blogs dormant for several months. Those are good blogs. Too good to be sold and yet, I don't have time to do anything to them. Sometimes, it is not the time but the passion.

For example, if I am going to write a food blog, I have to make them look presentable. However, the camera that is convenient for me to carry out take lousy macro shots and I hate the pictures.

Summertime barbeque

I have never been to America and I am very puzzled why they want to eat something hot like barbeque in an already hot weather? Why didn't people have grill and roast stuffs during winter or at least autumn? Wouldn't the cold weather makes eating hot, burning foods like that more fun?

I wonder why people are looking for push bars and grills during summer. I hope someone can enlighten me? In my tropical climate, having barbeque is never fun unless we have cold, rainy days. Otherwise all those fire and hot sun will melt everyone.

More and more young girls are having the unhealthy trend of keeping themselves very thin. When I say young girls, I mean those girls below 10 years old.

A friend of mine who is body conscious has two daughters who are constantly worried that they are fat. Come on, they barely lose their baby fats and they are already worrying about their shapes.

So, I personally think it is not good for moms with daughters to indulge too much in staying thin. Although there are weight loss pills like Fastin to take the easy way out, I personally feel it is better to accept us for what we are. Of course, one needs to have a healthy body and exercise and eat well.

I just dissed someone for his childish behaviour. I cannot stand adults with their whining. They seem like stunted in their little toddler world where they have to throw their tantrums, likes and dislikes at everyone.

Burning the midnight oil

I am dedicating the night to complete all my works. I haven't been doing much online stuffs lately because I was so caught up in learning a new skill. It takes a bit of passion, a lot of determination and some creativity to get things done the way I want them to be.

So, after all the works, I hardly have any mood or energy to make money online. My income has reduced but heck, why bother so much about money when I don't even really use them? My happiness comes from learning new things so I shall concentrate on them for the time being.

Therefore, I won't be writing about cooking or travelling or any copper kitchen sinks for the time being.

I miss holidays

Once upon a time, when the kids were younger, we used to go off to holidays at the drop of the hat. We love these last minute things like deciding to go off on the very next day or sometimes, we even made night trips.

However, with the children so much older and with schedules of their own, we hardly can do crazy stuffs like these. I really miss the carefree times when life was much simpler.

I think I shall take heart that later on, maybe in a decade's time, we can do the same thing again. But it probably left only me, myself, I and hubby.

Beside that, I also found the song by Dan Hill, Sometime When We Touch and I forgot who else who sang 'Nothing gonna change my love for you'. I remember the pub days when there was this group which sang really well. I always requested for these two songs cos it is like the most appropriate songs for new dates.

Things have changed

I have been slacking off these few weeks. In fact, for May, I hardly do much online stuffs because it was one messy months with so many things falling on my lap. Church duties, video journalism, studies and etc.

Lucky that I am not doing too bad. However, it is about time I get back to work again because if I keep slacking, I am going to be too lazy to pick up again. That's why I am hunting around for some good watering holes and find some buddies to work along. With a network, it is easier to find opportunities.

Now, how do I start to write about plastic knobs when I have been like a wooden block for so many weeks? I need someone or something to kick start my engine.

McD renovation

The McD restaurant near my place is under going renovation and has closed for several days already. They expanded the place and include a patio for people to sit outside. I wonder how many people like sitting under the humid weather? It is not like we can sip Coke and enjoy the breeze over here. Even if they put the nicest patio furniture, I doubt I want to sit outside.

I prefer the aircond. In fact, I was the only crazy one who sat in the aircond coffee place this morning while everyone couldn't stand the cold. It was so cold this morning, the glass mirror has condensation.

I was cleaning up my Youtube account and stumbled on some old videos which I have added to my favourite lists. Among them are songs which are so emo, I wonder why I added them? Maybe at certain times I got the emo feelings. But nay..I am not anymore so I wanted to get rid of them. However, I decided to listen again and wham, I am hooked to emo songs again.

And that's not the end, I added even more into my list. Maybe we women tend to be the soft ones and not those hard as rock kind of person. So, emo songs fit us. Talking about rock, they have these rock tumblers much sought after by hobbyist and etc.

I just saw a gorgeous woman who is tall and has a crew cut. I was like wow....I want to have a head like her! Maybe I should. My sons have turned bald and I probably should go follow suit. Of course, not gone bald but have really short hair. I used to have that but somehow, I lost the confidence of having hair like that because you need to carry it well or people will think you have just had chemotheraphy.

Then, I probably need some diet pill to make myself look really thin and people will certainly think I have just survived breast cancer treatment or something.

I can't stop sneezing!

I am not sure if other women get this but everytime I have my period, I am sure to fall sick. Sometimes, it is just a plain sneeze and runny nose for a few days. Sometimes, it is a full blown bad cough, fever and body ache. It is like when my period comes, the whole immunity thing is gone from me and I catch bugs easily.

Right now, I am sneezing my head off. I can't control the sneezing and it is making me drowsy with all that sneezes. I should be taking some anti-histamine to stop it but I dislike the dry throat feeling after taking anti-histamine. So, I shall continue to sneeze till my nose comes off my face.

Anyway, I am lucky that all these are just mild complaints and there are nothing big to worry about. So, I shouldn't complain over these because there are bigger illness people get. Those that call for long term treatment in hospital and those that need health plans like bcbsnc to foot the bill.

Blog reduction drive

These past few months have been so hectic to me. I am practically driving all over town on most days and have no time to spend at home. So, there is very little opportunity for me to sit down and concentrate on building my online activities.

I have let many of my websites domain to expire. Some of these are several years old domain which I have left untouched. I should have work on them and put up the domain for auction but I just don't have the patience to negotiate and stuffs. So, I let it expire including several tours and travel related sites. I should have kept them because the hotel industries will be interested on them. Hotels like this San Diego hotel normally like to expand their reach.

Come to think of it, I better stop buying so many domains at fancy. Otherwise, I may not be able to afford to pay the domain fees in the coming years.

Damn...I am really sick of lame comments

The bleh of having too many blogs is to bear with those lame comments made by regular readers and also those who wants a quick back link. They are just so, so lame, I wish to whack them. However, sometimes I feel merciful and endure those who gives me advices in my post that give the advice.

Many of these morons never read what I wrote and just try to act smart and leave a few sentences just to get some linky love. Sometimes, I deleted off their comments but sometimes, I decided to leave it to show how lame they are.

Fat Fest

Whenever I say Fat Fest, my kids know that it is going to be fried everything meal. Usually, during lunch, they will return home at various times. And with their different tastebuds, they wanted different things for lunch. One may want sandwiches, the other pasta and one wants rice.

In order to cut all the trouble, I just tell them Fat Fest and it means fried chicken, fish fritters, hash browns and fries. It is not healthy of course but that's ok if we do it like once in a while because the stress of preparing something that please everyone is too much trouble,

But if this fat fest goes on too much, we may need to find diet pill that works or we will be obese.

Just Desserts

One of these days, I am going to throw all cautions to the air. I will forget all about diabetes, putting on weight or anything bad about taking too much sugar and cream.

I am going to go to a restaurant and order only desserts. Not one but several desserts and stuff my face. It think one has to do some of these stunts at least a few times in her lifetime. Then, I will be satiated and not hankering for any more desserts.

Home alarm - more annoyance or security?

The other day, the house next to my son's kindie must had a faulty home alarm. The thing went off, blasting and screaming the whole morning, leaving the poor kids traumatised.

All good home alarm service should come with some telephone numbers for neighbours to phone if the thing goes off. Otherwise, they should install those that are monitored by a central system so that the house owner knows their alarm has gone off.

Don't use one of those that blast the whole time and no one knows about it. It is a noise pollution more than security system.

However, this is not the case because women in general cannot resist the word sale and they will find a way to buy something because it is on sale.

That's why many online shopping sites are still aggressively promoting their stuffs because they know our women's weakenesses. I too had been contemplating trying out a new skincare because it is on sale.

Looking for a camcorder

I am totally not familiar with the names for video cameras. There is handycam, camcorder, video camera and other names used by different camera brands. Then, there is CMOS and CCD technology and the storage come in so many types like HD, SD, DDIV bla bla bla.

These two nights, I have been out shopping for a camera. Initially, I was thinking of find the cheapest but have all the features I want. Then, I notice that the more expensive ones have so many other cool features. Now, I am totally boggled. Should I buy a cheap one or spend more?

The other thing is how each shop quotes different prices. How nice if they are all displayed on supermarket shelves with fixed price and all I need is to go the nearest barcode scanner and get the price without having to bargain for them.

Everyone is telling me to invest in gold. And I think I am going to explore this option because my fixed deposit interest is only a miserable 2.35% per annum. That is so unprofitable and it is meaningless to keep the money in the bank. It no longer grows but just merely for safekeeping.

Meanwhile, invest in gold means a more stable profit because the prices of gold has been steady over the years. As our money gets less and less useful, it is time to seriously look into how to make sure that whatever we have earned today still remains our treasure and not just pieces of papers.

It has been a long time since I have the chance to visit the lakes and enjoy the views of the lotus flowers growing in the mud. I love sitting there by the pond or lake and watch those pinkish flowers swaying in the wind amidst the filth of the pond.

Many months ago, I used to be able to churn out many blog posts in one day. Sometimes, we have to work really fast and under pressures. Yet, I could write one post after another without feeling tensed, lost for words or feel tired after the whole ordeal.

Nowadays, I have to sit down and think first before I can start the opening sentence. I think I need more practices in going back to the blogging mania. But then, a lot of companies are cutting budget and there is less work. So, even the cash drawer has stopped kaching kaching so much.

Hands me down stuffs

I welcome hands me down stuffs for my children because children grow really fast. So, usually, my sister-in-law or sisters will give me their babies' stuffs which I passed on to my children.

It is certainly a good way to save money because I can then, pass it down to my other children. In fact, I hardly buy those expensive but really nice baby bedding because they are given to me for free. After I have used for four kids, the stuffs are no longer suitable for giving to others. So, what i did is to give them to the children in the plantation estate.

My sisters do not want those old stuffs passed back to them because their own grandkids will be lavished with new stuffs already.

Recently there has been so much controversy surrounding those politicians and their cars. One was accused using state funds to maintain his personal Lexus. Then, this politician bite back and accused the accuser of using the state funds under the previous administration to buy a Toyota Harrier.

All these mud slingings are getting ridiculous by the day. People in their state is suffering due to the economy downturn and yet, they are squabbling over these issues. With the recession, who can afford a Ferrari or need to buy Ferrari parts anymore, right?

My son wants a Wii for his birthday

My son asked for a Nintendo Wii for his birthday but has to make do with a set of LEGO because now is not the time to splurge on gifts that cost so much. He understands and gladly take the LEGO set.

However, we assured him that we will definitely get a set if we can afford it. Moreover, if he is getting one, we also need a lot of wii accessories and when we have more moolah, then we can get them all.

I thankful for a little boy who knows what being frugal means and does not whimper and whine when we explain things to him.

Mini m&m cupcakes

My cupcake project gone terribly wrong last night. Since it is already past midnight, my eldest son and I have no more energy to bake a new batch. The muffin cups I used were too big for kids. So, I cut the cake into two and put them in cupcake casings.

Since the shape is not round, I cannot cover the top of the cake and write names on them. So, I make do with mini m&m candies and some chocolate rice sprinkling.
