My Dell that refused to retire

I have a five years old Dell Inspiron. The other day, the monitor finally breathed its last breath and blinked and died. At first we thought of buying a new LCD monitor to replace it but unfortunately, my children complained that the PC is too slow for any proper use.

The graphic card too is old and cannot support many newer games. However, it is still good for surfing and doing basic tasks. I wonder if I can increase Dell Memory. A check on the link provided says I can, for a small sum only. So, I cannot get rid of the CPU and think it is better I get a cheap monitor and increase its memory so that we can continue abusing the old machine. I love Dell. Really.
