Money the cause of all evil?

We have heard of horrendous news about families being hacked by loan sharks because they failed to pay their loans. Then, there are breadwinners who killed themselves because of debts. It is even more frightening when they not only kill themselves, they killed their innocent children as well.

So, is it due to money? Or is it a bigger evil? I think one wouldn't have to that level if one has been more sensible, discipline and find the right channel to help them. A lot of people are greedy, either investing in scam to get rich quick or gamble and hence, they needed fast loans to tide them through.

Let's say they are just merely looking for money to tide through children education loan or something legal and decent, they would have done well to find reliable loans and debt advice from reputable companies.
